Which market are you reading?
Political markets, where lawful and available, must define the event precisely: an election victory, seat count, nomination and taking office are not necessarily the same result.
Distinctions to check
Odds do not represent an expected vote share. The implied probability reflects market pricing and may be affected by liquidity and margin. It should not be presented as a scientific measure of public support.
An example to explain the concept
Winning the most votes and winning the most seats are different outcomes. Before comparing prices, check that both selections use the same criterion.
Terms and settlement
This section explains methodology; it does not publish political predictions, favoured candidates or live political markets. The bookmaker’s rules specify how an official result applies to the market. Later result corrections may be subject to time limits: do not infer settlement solely from a result published elsewhere.
Compare like with like
Keep the event, period of play, selection and line identical. Record the observation time as well: prices viewed at different times are not a simultaneous comparison. Higher odds do not automatically compensate for different rules or conditions.
